This Bridge City Tool “Jointmaker” Single wing sliding saw was purchased new when it was first introduced (I think about 2010). I spent a good deal of time setting it up and learning how to use it, though since it was a newly developed tool there was a good deal about it that was unknown and I spent time corresponding with the developer about it. Mistakes in setup, inadequate workpiece holddown, or procedure for a cut (e.g.being too aggressive) can result in a damaged sawblade that is no longer useful and needs replacement….of course I made mistakes and replaced the sawblade numerous times resulting in a noticeable outlay (new blades cost $30- $40 each). I decided after much consternation that I wanted to spend my creative time in a different way than with this saw, so it sat in the shop for nearly a year without much use. Instead of using it to cut dovetails and other joinery, I reverted back to my previous method of hand cutting which I found more gratifying.
The Precision Fence system and Tenon Miter Jig were introduced several years after the saw and I purhased them separately; it definitely was a needed addition to make the saw more useful for repetitive cuts.
