Description
Each earring began with a snippet of a western fern frond, collected by hand in the Pacific Northwest, then pressed and dried. When laid upon a small sheet of sterling silver, and fed through a rolling mill, it left behind its crisp, unique and detailed pattern. A little bit of patina in the recesses (basically, a forced tarnish) combined with a surface shine resulted in an elegant organic pattern.
A back frame of square silver wire made each patterned sheet sturdy, but still comfortably light.
Faceted Moldavite, encircled in silver add the perfect bits of sparkle to compliment the organic loveliness. Moldavite is type of silica rock formed as the result of a meteor impact, somewhere between 12 and 15 million years ago. Most moldavite is found in southern Germany and Czech Republic.
The reinforced silver ear wire provide for a showy length, but not too much movement.
Dimensions: Each earring measures 5/8 inch across and 1 and 1/3 inch in length, measured from where the earring inserts into your ear.
