This shelf is cut from the slab edge, resawn to about 3/4″ thick, then glued up so the live edge is on both front and back. Hand-shaped corbels house “keyhole hangers” which allow the shelf to be securely hung on nearly any wall. These shelves vary in depth, but usually are less than 8″ deep; I try to keep the shelf length around 24″ although it is never exactly that, due to the nature of the material used. Corbels are affixed to shelf underside with 3/8″ dowels, so are not visible after glue up. Drywall screws and shelf hanging instructions are included with each sale.
