Each shelf is cut from the slab edge, resawn to about 3/4″ thick, then glued up so the live edge is on both front and back. Hand-shaped corbels house “keyhole hangers” which allow the shelf to be securely hung on nearly any wall. These shelves vary in appearance and shelf depth, but usually are less than 8″ deep; I try to keep the shelf length around 24″ although it is never exactly that, due to the nature of the material used. Corbels are affixed to shelf underside with 3/8″ dowels, so are not visible after glue up. Drywall screws and shelf hanging instructions are included with each sale.
